For the European Sustainable Development Week, the university of Caen Normandy and its partners organise various events around sustainable mobility between September 30th and October 3rd 2024. By participating in one or multiple events, you will have the opportunity to enter a raffle to win a mobility gift box.
One Day, One Theme
The Sustainable Mobility Week is organised to discover all the aspects of sustainable and responsible mobility: health, business, engineering, territorial partnership. Each day is the opportunity to approach sustainable mobility from a different perspective:
This event is organised by the Caen-based Agir Ensemble alliance, of which the university is a member, with ENSICAEN, EM Normandie, Builders for Society, CROUS, CASDEN, MGEN, Caen-la-Mer and the city of Caen. This group engages in discussions and coordinates projects to make the campuses more sustainable. Thanks to the actions taken by the university and its partners, the Agir Ensemble label has once again been awarded to the members of the Caen alliance for the 2024-2025 academic year.
An event to address mobility issues
The diagnosis conducted as part of the 2024-2029 Mobility plan highlights important traffic flows toward the northern plateau of Caen, where campuses 2, 4, 5 and Horowitz are. This area is frequented not only by the university community but also by students and staff from nearby institutions. During rush hour, traffic congestion builds up, and parking becomes difficult. One of the actions presented in the mobility plan is to organise events with other higher education establishments on the northern plateau, in order for the communities to meet, discuss mobility and create connections (through bike groups, carpooling…). In doing so, the Sustainable mobility week aligns perfectly with the objective to change travel habits with all local actors.
