The 16th edition of the “Têtes chercheuses” Competition is now open! “Têtes chercheuses” is the first regional competition dedicated to scientific, technical and industrial culture and intended for research teams of Normandy. Each year, this competition awards two prizes: the Schlumberger Museum Prize and the Unicaen “Science & Société”  Prize, each awarded with €10,000 provided by the sponsoring partners. These two prizes encourage innovative approaches in scientific outreach and participatory research implemented by public and private research teams of Normandy.

The Schlumberger Museum Prize

The  Schlumberger Museum Prize is open to public or private scientific and/or technical research teams from Normandy. This prize rewards a science outreach initiative that illustrates and clarifies methods, tools, innovations or techniques of all fields of contemporary research. Selected by a jury of professionals from the culture and research sectors, the winning team receives a €10,000 grant awarded by the Museum Schlumberger Foundation. Winners will also get support from The Dome’s scientific educators in the development and dissemination of their project.

Teams have until Thursday 27 February 2025 to apply. Then, they will be invited to a co-creation workshop on Tuesday 11 March 2025. This opportunity will allow applicants to refine their project with the help of science outreach professionals and members of the public. Teams then have until Friday 18 April 2025 to complete and submit their application file.

The UNICAEN “Science & Societé” Prize

The UNICAEN “Science & Société” Prize is open to all scientific research teams from Normandy as well as individual researchers. This award supports or helps participatory research projects involving civil society (associations, actors in the social and solidarity economy, groups of citizens or users, the general public…) and reinforcing the link between science and society.

Selected by a jury of professionals and members of the public, the winner receives a €10,000 grant awarded by the University of Caen Normandie. They will also receive support from The Dome and the University of Caen Normandie to develop and implement their participatory research project.

Calendar

Teams will present their projects in front of the jury of the Museum Schlumberger Prize and of the Unicaen “Science & Société” Prize on Tuesday 6 May 2025. The official award ceremony will take place on Thursday 12 June 2025 during the fourth Regional Forum on Scientific and Technical Culture.
