Normandy: a land of energy and opportunity

  • Post last modified:03/11/2023

Normandy is a land of energy. From wind and solar power to electricity generation, Normandy’s energy sector is an economic mainstay, creating more than 36,000 jobs in 1,400 local companies. Whether it’s nuclear energy, renewable energies, gas and oil, or smart energies, the future of this sector is you! In partnership with the EDF Group, Club Phénix, the network of partners of the University of Caen Normandie, is organizing a round table discussion entitled “S’insérer et réussir dans la filière énergétique normande: Quelles formations pour quels parcours professionnels?” on October 27, at 2:30 pm, on Campus 1. If you’re passionate about this sector, or if you’re wondering about your career direction, this event is for you !

The round table will be held to mark the signing of a partnership agreement between EDF and the university. The aim of this partnership is to create a close link between the training of students – be they engineers, technicians, masters or bachelors – and the skills needs of local players.

Why take part in this event ?

This round table offers a unique opportunity to explore the opportunities and challenges facing the energy sector in Normandy. “There is a strong need for recruitment in this sector, and this need will only grow in the years to come. What’s more, this event will enable students to meet numerous professionals and expand their network. They’ll be able to talk to EDF executives about the different professions in this sector. It’s also an opportunity to land internships and apprenticeship contracts in all fields, and possibly research contracts,” explains Xavier Souris, Head of Corporate Relations and Club Phénix.

The event will bring together EDF Group managers, including the Group HR Director and the Director of Regional Action, teacher-researchers and guidance staff from the University of Caen Normandie, as well as a number of Club Phénix partner professionals.
