On December 3rd, the University of Caen Normandy hosted a special day dedicated to AI. In partnership with the GREYC, LITIS, and Normastic laboratories, as well as the TES cluster, this event aimed to bring together the academic world, industry leaders, and public institutions to stimulate collaboration, technology transfer, and innovation.
Exchanges at the heart of artificial intelligence
Aiming at connecting research with the concrete needs of businesses, this day provided an opportunity to showcase the work of partner laboratories and explore practical applications of AI across various sectors.
A rich and diverse programme
After a presentation of the Norman laboratories highlighting their various works and projects related to artificial intelligence, the event focused on essential subjects:
- Deepfakes and associated biases: understanding the ethical and technical challenges of AI-generated content.
- Adjustable autonomy in decision-making robotics: smart solutions for flexible robotic systems in synergy with human operators.
- AI and IoT: how artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things complement each other to revolutionise the industry.
To close the day, an interactive session was held, allowing companies and laboratories to explore collaboration opportunities and lay the foundation for innovative partnerships.
A springboard for regional and national innovation
Not only did this day highlight the scientific excellency of Norman laboratories, it also encouraged a constructive exchange between researchers and industry leaders. Discussions paved the way for promising partnerships, reflecting AI’s potential to address economic and societal issues.
