You may have noticed four planters in front of BU Pierre Sineux. These planters were installed as part of the O’Ailes project, winner of the Hackathon 2021 edition. The planters are now filled with soil and will soon be filled with plants!
Calling all gardening enthusiasts
The shared garden has been set up so that students and staff can take care of it in their spare time and enjoy every harvest. Several varieties are planned: aromatic herbs, Carentan carrots, rhubarb, strawberries, cabbage, perpetual leeks… To inaugurate this shared garden, Mission Campus 30 is offering volunteers the chance to take part in a gardening awareness workshop, followed by a planting session!
2 workshops are offered on Monday, October 9:
11am-12pm: awareness-raising workshop
12pm-1pm: planting
What is a shared garden?
The principle of a shared garden is to offer a space to the university community so that they can care for and maintain it independently. The shared garden allows for the sharing of harvests, while at the same time creating and maintaining social links between members. Eventually, this space will become a living space in its own right, bringing together all nature lovers!
The purchase of these planters is funded by the CVEC (Contribution vie étudiante et de campus).
