Have you seen them ? From Wednesday August 30 to Friday September 8, the University of Caen Normandie called on its student community to welcome new students to the campus.
Present in tents on campuses 1 and 2, their mission was to guide them, reassure them and facilitate their integration. Many questions were asked about the campuses, buildings, administrative procedures, catering, sports, health and associations.
“I’ve been a student at the university for several years, so I know the campus and wanted to help new students settle in and have a successful start to the new academic year. Our mission was to welcome, orientate, promote the back-to-school program and answer students’ questions. Many anticipate their needs, but some are very stressed at the idea of joining a large campus. The questions that came up most often concerned the Léocarte, sports, UFR schooling, timetables, and the location of lecture halls and buildings.” – Anaïs, M2 Law student Company legal advisor
“I applied for the student job because the atmosphere is much happier than in other jobs, and we work with other students. Our mission was to promote the various schemes in place to help students get back to school. Some students were feeling stressed, but we did our best to reassure them. It’s important for us to be there, because it reassures them and lets them discover student life through our own experience. We talk about what we know.” – Thibaut, L3 student in Applied Foreign Languages.
