University, a place for cultural knowledge

We have been working for several years to give greater visibility to cultural knowledge at university – not only by and for students but for the entire university community. Our university is an open and accessible place for all: a place to meet, exchange, suggest ideas, debate, inform and get to know the region’s cultural partners. We develop and support projects on all university campuses. The Cultural Commission meets regularly to examine projects requiring support.

Maisons de l’étudiant (MDE)

The Maisons de l’étudiant (Student house) of Alençon, Caen and Cherbourg are first and foremost friendly places where students can meet. They also provide many services such as practical art workshops, meeting rooms for associations and rehearsal rooms for music. They participate in the organization of the university theatre festival Les Fous de la Rampe, exhibitions, the Phénix Live music tour and multilingual cafés. They also provide a varied cultural program for students with free entrance or reduced prices.
