The university is a place of cultural knowledge

For several years now, we have been gathering our efforts to give greater visibility to cultural knowledge at university – not only by and for students but for the entire university community. Our university is an open and accessible place for all: a place to meet with new people, toexchange and suggest ideas, to debate, gain information and discover the region’s cultural partners. We develop and support projects on all university campuses. The Cultural Commission meets regularly to examine projects requiring support.

Maisons de l’étudiant (MDE)

The Maisons de l’étudiant (which could translate as “Student Houses”) of Alençon, Caen and Cherbourg are first and foremost friendly places where students can meet. They also provide many services such as practical art workshops, meeting rooms for associations and rehearsal rooms to play music. They participate in the organization of the university theatre festival Les Fous de la Rampe, as well as art shows and exhibitions, a music tour called the Phénix Live and multilingual cafés. They also provide a varied cultural program for students with free tickets or reduced prices.
