SUMMARY:Feminist education - RIN Eqelles
DESCRIPTION:The international colloquium “Éduquer au(x) féminisme(s)” is part of RIN EQELLES. It aims to explore the links between the spread of feminist ideas in the late 70s and contemporary feminist education practices.  \n\n\n\nIn particular\, it will examine the influence of the feminist journals and magazines of the Women’s Movement on contemporary feminism\, and the ways in which education professionals have seized upon them. It will look at the feminist ideas and resources conveyed in children’s literature as well as in educational tools and materials\, and consider how these can be mobilized in today’s teaching.

SUMMARY:Red\, blue\, yellow: the Middle Ages love colors
DESCRIPTION:Contrary to popular opinion\, the 1\,000 years of the Middle Ages were not years of gray and gloom. In Normandy\, as elsewhere\, color exploded inside and outside buildings (churches\, chapels\, castles\, manor houses\, town houses)\, on tables and clothes\, on tombs. These colors are made vivid by the many and varied lighting fixtures and increasingly large openings equipped with multicolored stained glass windows.  \n\n\n\nMarie Casset\, honorary lecturer in medieval history and member of CRAHAM\, will lead this conference.

SUMMARY:True from false
DESCRIPTION:What if science and cinema came together to shed light on the issues facing our societies ?  \n\n\n\nThe Université de Caen Normandie\, Le Dôme and the Café des images invite you to take part in a regular series of meetings on science and society. And for this session\, we’ll be tackling the theme of true versus false!  \n\n\n\nEvening program \n\n\n\n\n7pm: Oxytocin game workshop led by Le Dôme – at Café du ciné \n\n\n\n\nPlaying with critical thinking to combat the spread of false information. Ocytocine is a game of bluff and deduction that invites you to dive into the world of social networks. Your objective? Trigger as many interactions as possible to get your news buzzing\, but beware: Kruptos is watching you and could well delete your account if it catches you sharing fake news!  \n\n\n\nFree online registration for the workshop. Participation in the workshop entitles you to a 4 euro ticket for the screening in the second half of the evening (on presentation of your workshop ticket at the Café des Images box office).  \n\n\n\n\n8pm: Social time \n\n\n\n\n\n8:30pm: Screening of the film Reality by Tina Satter \n\n\n\n\nSynopsis: On June 3\, 2017\, twenty-five-year-old Reality Winner is interrogated by two FBI agents at her home. This seemingly mundane\, sometimes surreal conversation\, with every dialogue taken from the authentic interrogation transcript\, paints a complex portrait of an American millennial\, US Air Force veteran\, yoga teacher\, who loves animals\, travel and sharing photos on social networks. Why is the FBI interested in her? Who really is Reality?  \n\n\n\nAfter the screening: meeting with Virginie Bagneux\, professor of social psychology at the University of Caen Normandie\, member of the Observatoire Zététique (Grenoble) and PhD in psychology. Virginie Bagneux conducts research in experimental social psychology on the influence of emotions on decision-making and critical thinking.  \n\n\n\nTickets are now available online.

SUMMARY:Participatory research : knowledge and recognition
DESCRIPTION:As part of their joint SAPS label project\, the Université de Caen Normandie and Le Dôme have chosen to focus on the development of participatory research programs\, in which citizens\, students and non-scientific audiences from all walks of life are invited to take part in different phases of scientific research programs with university teams. But what exactly is participatory research\, in all its diversity ? What kind of science\, or knowledge\, do they produce? What are their perhaps specific methods ? How can we encourage the emergence of participatory research that addresses the concerns of a given population or territory\, while respecting the specific methods and objectives of researchers ? What impact can this type of research have on public and collective action ?  \n\n\n\nThis first conference on participatory research programs at the University of Caen aims to address these questions by bringing together researchers who study the phenomenon of participation in science\, and researchers and actors involved in participatory research programs. For this first edition\, the symposium proposes in particular to question the epistemological conceptions that underlie participatory research schemes.  \n\n\n\nRegistration is free  \n\n\n\nDetailed program – SAPS symposium

SUMMARY:Pathogens\, Environment and Host: an integrated approach to respiratory health
DESCRIPTION:3rd RESPIRE Hospital-University Federation Day  \n\n\n\nInfectious and inflammatory respiratory diseases are particularly prevalent in the Hauts-de-France and Normandy regions. The genesis and evolution of these often chronic pathologies depend on interactions between the host and its environment (microbiological\, toxic\, chemical). This environment is changing rapidly under the impact of human activity\, with pollution\, particularly atmospheric pollution\, the emergence or re-emergence of respiratory pathogens\, and increasing populations of immunocompromised people.  \n\n\n\nThe aim of the FHU RESPIRE is to improve respiratory health through an integrated approach that takes into account host characteristics from childhood onwards (immune response to aggression\, microbiome\, respiratory comorbidities)\, the environment\, pathogens and their interactions at the pulmonary level.  \n\n\n\nThe aim of this 3rd scientific day is to encourage exchanges between researchers and clinicians\, so that the federation dedicated to respiratory health can fully play its role in our region\, and participate in the development of new collaborative and innovative projects that will improve practices and the quality of patient care !  \n\n\n\n\nInstitut Pasteur de Lille · 59000 Lille

SUMMARY:Local and national remembrance policies: dialogue\, competition or complementarity
DESCRIPTION:The aim of this symposium is to study the scientific\, political and social debates currently taking place in Latin America between local and national memory policies.  \n\n\n\nIt will look at the various initiatives and projects put in place since the end of the dictatorial regimes of the 1970s-1980s and 1990s\, to see whether these policies have worked in synergy\, competition or mirror image. Pioneering countries in the implementation of measures linked to their recent past\, Latin American countries are also young democracies attempting to manage “Recent Past” and “Present” very often at the same time.  \n\n\n\nThis symposium takes place at Caen University and Caen Memorial.  \n\n\n\n\n\nNadia Tahir

SUMMARY:Making Peace with Nature
DESCRIPTION:Making Peace with “Nature”. History of symbolic representations and practices since Antiquity  \n\n\n\nConference organized by the HisTeMé laboratory – UR 7455\, November 8-10\, 2023\, at the University of Caen Normandy\, IMEC and the Caen Memorial. Free registration.  \n\n\n\nScientific coordinators : Caroline Blonce\, Jan Synowiecki and Anna Trespeuch-Berthelot (Université de Caen Normandie\, HisTeMé\, UR 7455)  \n\n\n\nThe symposium explores historical sequences of pacification with “nature”\, following three types of conflict: armed conflicts between humans\, what human societies perceive as attacks on them by “nature” (floods\, earthquakes\, droughts\, late frosts\, etc.) and the wars that human societies wage against “nature” (pollution\, deforestation\, erosion\, species extinction\, climate upheaval\, etc.). During these episodes of destabilization of homeostasis – perceived and/or real – human representations of interdependence within the living world are laid bare\, which justifies the scientific interest of studying them in a transperiodic dynamic. Speakers will examine the discourses\, rituals and collective representations that identify imbalances within the living world\, the modes of immediate remediation and\, finally\, the projects and utopias for establishing lasting peace within the living world.  \n\n\n\nPossibility of following the symposium remotely (see information on the symposium website).
